Daily Image 2/9/11

1. What do you see? Describe what is happening.
I see African children sitting at tables in rows with laptops in front of them, their arms in the air singing. And there is a man standing behind them with a very serious face.

2. What Colors, Shapes, and Lines?
I see green, brown, white, black, red, blue, gray, and yellow.
I see circles, rectangles, squares, triangles, and diamonds.
I see many straight, vertical, diagonal, and horizontal lines.

3. Write down 5 expressive words that relate to the image.
Rejoicing, Happy, Excited, Proud, Appreciative.

4. Interpret the photograph. What is the meaning of this image?
I think photo is about that organization that gives a child in Africa a laptop whenever a child in America buys one. This might be the set of a commercial.

5. How does this image uses the Rules of Composition?
The Rule of Thirds: It is hard to see a horizontal line. The man behind the children is in the money spots.

Simplicity: The fact that the background is blurry makes it clear and uncomplicated.

Actual and Implied Lines: The children's arms stretched out make implied diagonal lines, and the green walls in the background have horizontal lines going across them.
