Photography Tecniques

Three techniques that can be used in photography to produce a better photo are getting fresh angles to shoot from, filling your frame,

and having a focal point. Photographing something from a different angle can make the photo more interesting. It will draw people to your photo. It is always good to make sure to fill the camera frame when photographing so that when people see your photograph, they can s

ee the features in it. All photographs should have a focal point; points where people’s eyes travel to automatically then they see a photograph.

Different shooting angles make a photograph interesting. Instead of taking a regular photograph of something straight on, you can take it crouching down in front of it or you can climb above it and take the photo. It can be used in this class when there are projects. It can bring emphasis to a picture and better bring out the desir

ed technique in the photo, whether it is asymmetry, or symmetry. This technique interests me because it causes me took look at pictures differently. I like to see a picture and there is a mystery behind it. When a photograph has a different angle it is being shot from, you wonder what it is, where it is. It makes you want to see more.

Another way to make a good photograph is to make sure to fill the ca-

mera frame when taking a picture. This feature comes in well

when taking pictures of people. If you take the photo from afar it might be hard to see the facial features. Ways you

can fill your frame are by: using the optical zoom on the camera, using your legs by literally walking closer to the point of interest; cropping your shots, if you have a photo where there id a lot of background, crop it out so the point of interest will be

clearer to see; and by using the digital zoom if you have a digital camera. This technique can be used in class when taking photos to make the point of interest in shots more emphasized. This technique interests me

because it is a very helpful feature to have when taking photos.

The last technique to have is a point of interest or a focal point. A focal point is important because when you look at a photograph, your eye needs a place where would generally travel to. Also, when there is a point of interest the message the photographer wants you to see will be emphasized. Techniques that you can use to enhance a focal point are: to position the camera and use the rule of thirds, focus the camera on

the point you are trying to emphasize, blur the background so that the focal point will be enhanced, make the focal point large, use contrasting colors, and contrasting shapes and textures. Those techniques and be used together to give you a clear focal point. This technique can be used in class to help produce better photos. I like this technique because having a focal point enhances a photograph and can portray the message easier.

Better photographs can be produced by shooting from different angles, filling the camera frame, and by having a focal point. These techniques make a picture more interesting and make a photo better. These techniques can help me become a better photographer because I will know what to look for and what to avoid when taking a picture. They make better photographs because the theme behind a photo can be enhanced and they will make the photo easy in the eyes.
